Matchlessantiques is offering collectors and smiths this 3 lb. Plumb Double Face Blacksmith hammer. Excellent to forge with. The handle fits a little loose. The markings are "PLUMB, 48 OZ.". Please take a close look at the pictures. Fayette R. Plumb (F.R.P.) began making tool in 1870s with Johnathan Yerkes. Plumb bought out Yerkes half of the business in 1887 and the company became know as Fayette R. Plumb that used an Anchor as part of their trademark. The company was located in Philadelphia, Pa. and remained in business until 1964. Plumb produced quality blacksmith tools and hammers of various sorts.
